Palomares lies very near the coastal resort of Mojacar and the fishing port of Garrucha. The village maintains a traditional Spanish feel because although many northern Europeans have settled here, it is an agricultural village and home to many Spaniards that work on the surrounding land.
The beach is almost untouched and has a grove of pines and eucalyptus trees that backs on to it giving the beach an unspoilt feel. The village has all the facilities you would expect from a modern small town with supermarkets, banks, restaurants and a pleasant square with an excellent tapas bar.
